Unit: Safety

Themes: How to keep myself safe, Address, Phone Number, Strangers, Good Touch/Bad Touch, Pumpkins, Scarecrows, Columbus Day, Fire Prevention Week.

Bible Themes: Obedience, Noah, Moses, Ten Commandments.

November

Unit: Foods

Themes: Having Balance in what I eat, Exercise, Trying new Foods (green eggs and ham), Pilgrims, Native Americans, Thanksgiving, and Turkeys.

Bible Themes: Moses and Manna, Elijah and Ravens, Giving Thanks to the Lord.

December

Unit: Christmas

Themes: Stars, Ordinal Numbers in the Twelve Days of Christmas, Giving Gifts, Being Content.

Bible Themes: Jesus is the Star of Christmas, Mary and Joseph- Parents for a King, Giving Gifts in Secret, A Thankful Heart is a Happy Heart, and May Your Best Present of all be Jesus.

January

Unit: Winter Weather

Themes: Stars, Planets, Moon, Ice to Igloos, Penguins, Hibernation, a Day at the Beach, Winter Activities.

Bible Themes: And Jesus Grew in Wisdom and Stature and in Favor with God and man, Jesus shows Obedience to His Parents and to His Father, John the Baptist, Water into Wine.

February

Unit: The Past

Themes: How people used to live using Donald Hall’s The Ox Cart Man, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Jr., Being Prejudice, Rosa Parks, Molly’s Pilgrim, Missionaries, Dinosaurs.

Bible Themes: Choosing Disciples, Tax Collectors Matthew and Zacchaeus, Samaritans, What is Love?, The Wordless Book.

March

Unit: Community Helpers

Themes: In like a Lion and out like a Lamb, St. Patrick, The First Day of Spring, Weather Changes, Kites, Baking Scones.

Bible Themes: Jesus Calms the Storm, the Wind and the Waves Obey, Miracles, the Lost Sheep, the Lost Coin, and the Lost Son.

April

Unit: Our Senses

Themes: Seeds, Plants, Baby Farm Animals-chicks, ducks, and lambs.

Bible Themes: Jonah and Jesus three days inside, A Fish Breakfast on the Beach, We are to be Fishers of Men, Remember Me when you do this.

June

Unit: Getting Ready to Say Goodbye

Themes: Making our Memory Books, Father’s Day.

Bible Themes: Jesus says Goodbye to His Friends, In My Father’s House are Many Mansions, Make sure you are ready when I come back.
